About the project
This project aims to strengthen young people's participation, entrepreneurship and belief in the future in the countryside through international cooperation between Leader Lappland 2030 in Sweden and Leader Liiveri & Suupohja in Finland.
Through youth exchanges, workshops, training and networking meetings, meeting places are created where young people can develop their ideas, build relationships and inspire each other across borders. The project particularly focuses on inclusion and targets both engaged youth and groups that are currently underrepresented, such as young people with immigrant backgrounds and minorities.
A central part of the project is to strengthen young people's connection to their home region. By taking part in other perspectives and experiences, understanding of the opportunities that exist locally increases, while new ideas and initiatives emerge. The project contributes to increased social sustainability, strengthened self-esteem and a more positive image of the countryside.
The cooperation between Sweden and Finland creates long-term networks and knowledge exchange that benefits both young people and professionals working with youth. By building bridges between countries and people, the foundation is laid for a more inclusive, innovative and vibrant local community.
From the Project Application
”Young people are a key factor for the vitality of the countryside. They contribute energy, ideas and innovations that can develop the region in a sustainable way.”

LAG board's decision justification
The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project strengthens young people's
participation, belief in the future and entrepreneurship through international cooperation
between leader areas. The project promotes inclusion, network building and
social sustainability in the countryside. By involving young people in
cross-border activities and experience exchange, the project contributes to an
attractive living environment and a more engaged local community.
