The Point – The Future
Tärna IK Fjällvinden is conducting a feasibility study to investigate how Udden in Tärnaby can be developed for the future. The goal is to take advantage of the site's history and create conditions for a vibrant meeting place with activities for children and youth, associations, locals, and visitors.
Purpose and goals
The purpose of the project is:
to strengthen and develop Udden as a cultural environment and meeting place in Tärnabygden, as well as to create conditions for a lively association life and increased collaboration between local actors.
The goal of the project is:
to carry out and complete a feasibility study that produces a concrete plan for Udden's future development.
About the project
Udden at the southern entrance to Tärnaby is a place with a long history. Here, Tärna IK Fjällvinden has operated for many decades, and the site has been well-known for its dances, markets, and other events.
Now the association wants to look ahead and explore what role Udden can play in the future Tärnaby.
Through the feasibility study, the association, together with other associations, businesses, children and youth, and other interested parties, will investigate needs, ideas, and opportunities for the area. Questions such as accessibility, the future use of buildings, activities, and how the area can be developed into an attractive meeting place are some of the aspects that will be examined.
The ambition is for Udden to be able to offer space for many different types of activities and people – from children and youth to association life, culture, sports, outdoor life, and visitors.
When the feasibility study is completed, there should be a clearer basis for Udden's continued development and for how the association can proceed with a future implementation project.
The feasibility study thus takes its starting point in Udden's long history as a gathering place, while also looking forward to new needs and opportunities in Tärnabygden.
From the Project Application
”The area shall have a child perspective as well as accessibility adaptations, and above all, children's and youth activities in motion shall be the focus for various facilities.”

LAG board's decision justification
The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project, by producing a
feasibility study for Udden's future development, creates conditions to strengthen
a unique cultural environment and develop association life in Tärnabygden. The feasibility study
enables a broadly anchored and long-term sustainable plan for the area, with
particular focus on children and youth, accessibility, and collaboration between
associations and local actors.
