Team gymnastics for everyone
Storumans IK is investing in a new tumbling floor to create more opportunities for movement and community, especially for children and young people, while also making the equipment available to more.
Purpose and goals
The purpose of the project is:
to develop the conditions for team gymnastics in Storuman by improving the equipment for gymnastics activities. The project aims to increase access to physical activity and strengthen the opportunities for children and young people to participate in gymnastics and community life.
The goal of the project is:
to acquire and install a new tumbling floor.
About the project
The interest in team gymnastics is great in Storuman, but the opportunities to practice the sport locally have been limited. Therefore, Storumans IK wants to create conditions to start team gymnastics as a new activity within the association.
Through the project, the association is investing in a new tumbling floor that meets today's safety requirements. It replaces an older used floor that is worn out and can no longer be used safely.
The new floor makes it possible to develop a safe and long-term activity in team gymnastics, especially for children and young people. The ambition is to offer another sport to choose from in Storuman and create opportunities for more to find an activity that suits them.
The tumbling floor will be located in the municipality's sports hall and should also be usable by the school and for other activities. In this way, the investment will benefit more people and create new opportunities for physical activity even outside the association's own activities.
With this investment, Storumans IK wants to broaden the local sports offerings and create a new activity where joy of movement, community, and the opportunity to develop are at the center.
From the Project Application
”We also want to show through this project that there is a belief in the future through investments and a constant effort to offer our residents the best possible conditions for an active and meaningful leisure time.”

LAG board's decision justification
The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project creates better
conditions for children and young people to practice team gymnastics through
investment in a new tumbling floor. The project contributes to strengthening the local
leisure offerings, promoting public health, and creating a more attractive living environment for
families with children and young people. Through collaboration between community life, schools, and
the municipality, the project is also expected to strengthen local engagement and contribute
to an active and inclusive society.
