About the microproject

In Varpsjö, a former bathing area that has overgrown will be restored and developed into a pleasant and accessible meeting place for the whole village. The area will be cleared and the beach restored, while also renovating a deck, barbecue area, and the existing changing room.

The idea is that the place can be used year-round and create better opportunities for bathing, outdoor life, recreation, and community. The project has developed together with families with children, the elderly, and other residents in Varpsjö, and several villagers will contribute practically to the implementation. The goal is to create a safe and inclusive meeting place where people of different ages can meet and where new activities and traditions can emerge.

The committee decides to grant the microproject as the initiative restores and develops a former common bathing area that creates increased access to nature and outdoor environments for residents and visitors. The project contributes to community, outdoor life, movement, and social interaction across generations and has a clear local anchoring through voluntary engagement from the villagers. The initiative is assessed to create long-term benefits for Varpsjö and aligns well with the purpose of Microproject For Green Community.
