E-campaign Lapland – for sustainable entrepreneurship!

The project develops Bergbodarna in Dorotea into a living mountain hut with activities that promote Swedish mountain hut culture, nature experiences and the tourism industry.

Purpose and goals

The purpose of the project is:

to strengthen young people's entrepreneurial skills and future belief in Lapland by developing a local version of the E-campaign focusing on sustainable business, circular economy, and collaboration with the business community.

The goal of the project is:

The goal of the project is to implement a regional pilot of the E campaign in two municipalities and, through a follow-up report with an analysis of the implementation, create sustainable structures for further development of young entrepreneurship in the area.

About the project

The E-campaign in Lapland is a project aimed at strengthening young people's entrepreneurial skills, future belief, and knowledge about sustainable business. By working practically with business ideas linked to the global goals, students in grades 7–9 have the opportunity to develop their ideas and turn them into reality.

The project is based on the established concept of the E-campaign, where students in teams start and run their own businesses for a limited period. The focus is on identifying local needs and opportunities, as well as creating value in their own local environment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with local businesses and entrepreneurs, which gives students insight into working life and strengthens the connection between school and business.

The project contributes to increasing young people's self-confidence and shows that there are opportunities to create their future in rural areas. By building networks and creating a structure for long-term collaboration between school, business, and the non-profit sector, the foundation is laid for continued work with entrepreneurship in the region's schools.

From the Project Application

”The need ultimately concerns strengthening young people's belief in the future, entrepreneurship, and willingness to contribute to their hometown in a sustainable and circular way – so that Lapland continues to be a viable region with local engagement, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.”
