Rusksele activity area: Lighted trail, Nisses slope & Fantasy path
Rusksele Local Heritage Association is developing the activity area around the lighted trail, Nisses slope and the Fantasy path. Through better lighting, improved accessibility, and new opportunities for play, movement, and community, the area will become a safe and attractive place for both children and adults year-round.
Purpose and goals
The purpose of the project is:
to develop a safe, accessible, and attractive activity area in Rusksele by upgrading and complementing existing outdoor areas for increased use year-round
The goal of the project is:
to erect a grill hut with electrical connection and install lighting, safety solutions, equipment, and accessibility adaptations in the lighted trail.
About the project
Rusksele Local Heritage Association wants to develop an activity area that is already an important place for outdoor life, play, and community in the locality.
The lighted trail is being upgraded with new energy-efficient LED lighting and improved ground surface. Benches are placed along the trail to make the area more accessible and provide opportunities for rest, and the investment will make it easier and safer for more people to use the trail throughout the year.
At Nisses slope, safety is improved with protection on the lighting poles, and a grill hut creates a place where children, families, and other visitors can gather, warm up, and socialize.
The existing Fantasy path is also getting new life. The path is being developed with sustainable objects, obstacles, and tasks that encourage imagination, play, balance, and motor skills. It is already used by, among others, school activities and will become an even more attractive excursion destination for both residents and visitors.
Through the investment, the association aims to create a safe and accessible activity area where people of different ages can meet, move, and experience nature year-round.
From the Project Application
”We want to increase accessibility to and opportunities for movement and outdoor life at the activity area for both children, families, and the elderly regardless of gender and socioeconomic background.”
