Tanne Multiarena

Tanne Horse Association is developing an accessible and inclusive activity area in Tannträsk outside Lycksele. Here, people with different interests and conditions will be able to meet around horses, dogs, small animals, nature, and activities.

Purpose and goals

The purpose of the project is:

to create an accessible and inclusive activity arena in Lycksele inland where people regardless of age, background or ability are given the opportunity to meet, participate in activities and take part in health-promoting and social activities.

The goal of the project is:

to establish an accessibility-adapted activity area containing activities related to animals and nature, aimed at children, youth, adults and people with disabilities.

About the project

Tanne Horse Association wants to develop its facility in Tannträsk into a broader meeting place where animals, nature, movement and community are at the center.

Through the project, a new outdoor environment is created that can be used by more than those who traditionally participate in the association's horse activities. A hardened accessibility loop and a fixed ramp will make the area more accessible for people with different physical conditions.

A multifunctional activity area will be established for, among other things, dog training, agility, rabbit jumping and hobby horse activities. A petting area will also be created where interaction with animals can contribute to both community and well-being. Efforts for biodiversity, including insect hotels and flowering areas for bumblebees and bees, will be part of the environment.

The idea is that several associations and activities will be able to use the area. Through collaboration and a digital booking system, the association wants to create a common resource that can be utilized for various activities and by different target groups.

Children and youth, people with disabilities, active association members, seniors and others seeking social community and activities in a nature-close environment are some of the groups the project aims to reach.

With Tanne Multiarena, the association wants to create an accessible meeting place where different generations and interests can meet – with animals and nature as a common denominator.

From the Project Application

”We are establishing a unique, accessibility-adapted outdoor environment in Tannträsk that breaks barriers between humans and animals. Through an innovative activity area with a hardened accessibility loop, environmental training course, agility field and petting area, we create an inclusive meeting place for horse, dog and small animal enthusiasts.”

LAG board's decision justification

The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project creates new
opportunities for social inclusion, green health and intergenerational
meetings. The project contributes to developing an inclusive meeting place for children,
youth, seniors and people with disabilities as well as strengthening collaboration
between the association life, civil society and local actors. Through the investment
conditions are also created for increased attractiveness and long-term sustainable
rural development in the Lycksele area.
