Toppsalongen – A Meeting Place for Adults
Toppsalongen in Storuman will become a new meeting place for adults and young adults – with games, activities and community in focus. The goal is to combat exclusion and create a socially sustainable countryside.

to create a safe and welcoming meeting place for adults in Storuman where people can meet, socialize, and participate in various activities.

• Offer at least one new leisure activity.
• Furnish and equip the venue for social interaction.
About the project
The project ”Toppsalongen – A Meeting Place for Adults” aims to create an open and inclusive gathering place in Storuman where adults and young adults can meet, socialize, and build community. In an area where there are currently no natural meeting places for adults, a pleasant environment with activities such as billiards, darts, disc golf simulator, chess, and video games will contribute to increased social cohesion and enjoyment.
Through low thresholds and spontaneity, the initiative aims to break loneliness and facilitate both newcomers and locals in finding their place in society. The venue will be accessible without the requirement to consume and is run by Hotell Toppen in collaboration with local associations – but is for the whole village.
This is an investment for a vibrant countryside where people meet for real.

By utilizing existing facilities and resources, the model is both scalable and cost-effective, making it easy to implement in other municipalities with similar needs and conditions.”

LAG board's decision justification
The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project contributes to an attractive and sustainable housing region by creating an important meeting place for the village. The project is well anchored locally, meets a clear need, and engages both associations and residents. It aligns with the Leader strategy and strengthens social environments as well as the local community.
