In other words, the purpose is to contribute to a sustainable economy with activities linked to nature-based experiences, which do not significantly impact the environment. To achieve this goal, plans are being made to establish meeting places along the Ume River with ice roads for skating, kick sledding, and walking. Furthermore, there is hope that the trail will be adapted for cyclists, exercisers, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers.

Several activities and events are planned to be carried out during the winter, with a strong focus on building up Lycksele's brand as a winter city. To succeed in this, increased collaboration between various actors, such as associations, businesses, destination companies, and the public sector, is required. Through cooperation and collaboration, it is hoped to develop the river as an attractive destination for tourists and visitors, while preserving nature and its beauty for future generations to enjoy.
