Arena Älven Summer
With this project, we want to highlight an area as a new meeting place during the summer for both visitors and locals.
About the project
We strive to create a place focused on movement, recreation, and accessibility. The goal is to create a natural meeting place where training, meetings, and recovery can occur without being dependent on organizers. Additionally, we want to make the place attractive for the development of new products.
Through the establishment of collaborations, the use of natural obstacles that promote movement richness, the construction of a playground, accessibility-adapted areas near water, lighting, and earthworks to facilitate movement, we strive to create an attractive place for many. We also plan to organize events to highlight the place.
Gold of Lapland has a Leader project called Arena Älven which focuses on creating meetings between people in a playful and movement-rich environment during winter. The area is a well-trafficked area with good potential to become a meeting place even in summer. With a valued result from the winter project Arena Älven, we truly see the potential in this project to become the next
major profile project in Lycksele.
From the Project Application
”The place should be a natural meeting place and create spontaneous meetings across boundaries.”
