Bike Kittelfjäll

The project will build a bike path specifically for children and youth. This path will be an easy green loop with simple access points to attract new cyclists to try it out. At the same time, it will also have some more challenging elements for the youth who have progressed in their development.

Purpose and goals

The purpose of the project is to:
create a central and natural gathering place for children and youth that can inspire spontaneous sports and training.
The goal of the project is to:
create a bike path for children and young people.

About the project

The project is part of a comprehensive solution that takes into account both the needs of the location and the destination. For the resident children and youth, it means increased opportunities for movement and training. For visitors, it means that their tourist needs for travel, accommodation, food, and experiences are met. The investment enables children and youth to spontaneously participate in sports and training. For visitors, it represents a new, attractive, and sustainable product within mountain bike tourism, which strengthens the local economy and the tourism industry in the long term.

At the same time, the investment strengthens rural entrepreneurship by allowing businesses to develop services and products within the tourism industry. The project improves the attractiveness and competitiveness of Övre Vojmådalen, leading to a higher quality of life for residents and increased business activity. It also contributes to sustainable development that benefits both residents and visitors while creating long-term jobs, all with consideration for nature and culture both now and in the future.”

From the Project Application

”By creating a green loop for mountain biking for the youngest in the forest between our existing sauna and the tarn, we believe we can create a nice family hangout that adds to the place.”

LAG board's decision justification

The LAG board decided to prioritize the application as the project aims to create a more attractive place to live, thrive, and operate in, but also a sustainable place for destination development where the trails and paths will be placed in a mountain-adjacent environment based on nature's conditions and prerequisites.
