The goal of the project is that at least 100 people will have taken part in information, through visits to the forest and Sámi museum and dining with a Sámi theme, which can contribute to an increased understanding of the Sámi culture.
About the project
The self-image in our area during 2014-2020 was characterized by low self-esteem, exclusion, and a lack of pride in our residential region and its cultural heritage. It is important to highlight the positive and unique aspects of our region to promote well-being and pride. We see potential in elevating the Sámi culture, something that has not been sufficiently explored in our leader area during the program period.
Our area has a rich history and cultural heritage that should be preserved and shared to create a sense of belonging among residents, returnees, and visitors.
By showcasing the Sámi culture in a respectful way, without turning it into a ”spectacle,” we strengthen our area and attract more visitors who want to learn about our traditions.
