Feasibility study Västerbotten's inland and artificial grass pitches
In Västerbotten's inland, representatives from municipalities and football clubs have stated that there is a lack of artificial grass pitches in Åsele, Dorotea, Storuman, and Sorsele. This poses a number of challenges for the football activities of the affected municipalities, especially for children, youth, and adults who want to develop their skills. Therefore, the project's goal is to investigate the possibility of establishing artificial grass pitches in the area. In this way, accessibility can be improved and more people can be given the opportunity to play football.
About the project
In 2017, the possibilities of establishing new artificial grass pitches were discussed between the Swedish Football Association, Västerbotten's Football Association, and local representatives. During these discussions, ambiguities regarding knowledge, financing, specifications, and more emerged.
Therefore, the purpose of the project is to clarify the necessary competence at the local level after the artificial grass pitches have been built. The project will investigate what is required to establish artificial grass pitches in Åsele, Dorotea, Sorsele, and Storuman. The goal is for the final result to provide a basis for building four artificial grass pitches in each municipality.
The project will collaborate with the affected municipalities and their largest associations during the pre-study. In the long term, the goal is for each municipality to have four artificial grass pitches built.
