Pumptrack track Gargnäs

When the youth center was started, it created a new spark in the community, and young people as well as adults began to naturally gather to discuss dreams and visions for the community. Together we began to dream of developing the local environment to create cohesion and shared strength. The project idea comes from parents and children who are active in the youth center and fits into the larger vision of the Gargnäs Interest Association, which wants to be a gathering force to harness ideas from members and residents and create an attractive and viable community.

The purpose of the project is to develop the recreational area around the bathing place to promote social meetings, movement, and public health. The bathing area has long been developed by the Gargnäs Interest Association into an important gathering place for both children, youth, and adults. Our vision is to upgrade the area with modern ”attractions” such as a pump track. Furthermore, we plan to establish an outdoor gym that in a playful way creates social meetings between different generations and encourages movement and physical activity to promote general public health in the community.
