Updated images and current film recordings from our region are missing. There are sites with old images and historical information, and these are important, but to know how the situation is today, we must create an archive with today's technology and above all – film/audio.
About the project
The project's overall goal is to preserve the history of ”Our home” for future generations while also addressing the urgent need for filmed material. By using film as a storytelling medium, we will professionally tell the history of the villages, their present, and their thoughts about the future, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The documentation will be an important cornerstone from a socio-cultural and historical perspective, enabling future generations to continue telling.
We plan to let youth and adults gather information about as many villages and interesting places as possible and make it available on a platform that is easily accessible. This information will include films, images, facts, history, interviews with villagers, and stories. It will become a database used by residents, authorities, and visitors. Through the project, we combine cultural preservation perspectives with today's need for current film information. The archive will provide a positive and informative picture of what exists in the municipality today. It will be easy to access, for example, via a mobile app and user-friendly websites with clear links and maps.
